1. What EdgeSite NVR is
EdgeSite NVR is self-hosted network video recorder software. It runs on hardware you own, records to storage you control, and is administered entirely by you. EdgeSite Technologies ("we") does not operate your NVR and has no access to it.
2. Video, audio, and event data
All recordings, snapshots, detection events, and camera configuration are stored exclusively on your NVR hardware. We do not receive, store, process, or have the technical ability to access any of it. On-device AI detection runs locally on your NVR; no frames are sent to any cloud service for analysis.
3. The optional remote access relay
If you enable remote access, your NVR maintains an outbound connection to a signaling relay. By design, the relay handles authentication handshakes and WebRTC session signaling only. Media paths are refused at the relay; video flows peer-to-peer between your device and your NVR, end-to-end encrypted with SRTP/DTLS. The relay stores no user accounts, no passwords, and no video. Connection metadata (NVR identifier, connection timestamps, source IP addresses) is retained in server logs for a limited period for abuse prevention and operations.
4. Push notifications
Event notifications are delivered via the Apple Push Notification service. Notification payloads contain the event type, camera name, and a reference your device uses to fetch the thumbnail directly from your NVR. Apple's handling of push traffic is governed by Apple's privacy terms.
5. This website
This website does not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics cookies. If you submit a contact or demo request form, we use the information you provide solely to respond to your inquiry.
6. Crash reports and diagnostics
The EdgeSite apps do not transmit analytics or telemetry to us. Optional diagnostics you choose to share with support (log excerpts, configuration summaries) are used only to resolve your issue and are deleted afterwards.
7. Your responsibilities
Because you operate the system, you are the data controller for footage it captures. Depending on your jurisdiction, camera placement and recording of audio or public areas may be regulated. Ensure your deployment complies with local law.
